Workshop on Water Resource Management Needs for the Great Basin

November 4-6, University of Utah’s Commanders House, Salt Lake City
1965 De Trobriand Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84112

Workshop brings together Great Basin Water Resource Management Practitioners and NASA Subject Matter Experts

The Great Basin’s distinctive environment creates equally distinctive challenges for water resource management. To address these, NASA’s Western Water Action Office (WWAO) will host a water resource management needs assessment workshop at the University of Utah from Nov. 4–6. This in-person event will convene regional stakeholders and NASA subject matter experts to work together in identifying and documenting key water management needs in the Basin.

Workshop outcomes will be published in a publicly available report designed to support both researchers and practitioners in advancing sustainable water management. The report will highlight priority needs that may inform future WWAO awards, partnerships, and initiatives. Past participants say one of the most valuable aspects of WWAO needs assessment workshops is connecting with a diverse group of water practitioners from across the basin.
